SAN BERNARDINO - The Time for
Change Foundation has changed locations but will
continue offering the same services to women trying to
get their lives back on track.
On Monday, staff, along with Mayor Pat Morris and
other local officials celebrated the move at a special
ribbon-cutting ceremony at the foundation's new office,
1255 E. Highland Ave.
"We stepped out in faith and relocated to the new
facility," said Kim Carter, the foundation's founder and
executive director "And as always the community rallied
around us and helped in making the transition."
Another blessing that occurred Monday was the
foundation received a check for $20,000 from the Women
Helping Others, WHO Foundation based in Texas, she said.
Time for Change, made the move after its former
office, 2130 N. Arrowhead Ave., used to admit women and
for case management services, was burglarized on Easter
Sunday.
It cleaned out the place. Pretty much everything from
computers to scrapbooks and video and digital cameras,
even Carter's chair, were taken from the office, she
said.
The foundation will continue doing the same
administrative work from the new location.
Nothing has changed at its two homeless shelters
designed to help women who are recovering from the
effects of mental and physical abuse, substance abuse
and incarceration.
The foundation provides housing, food, clothing and
support services to women in need.
