2 San Bernardino Nonprofits Come Together for Community Support
San Bernadino NonProfits Coming Together
Two nonprofits have joined together to share their Community Action Fair Giveaway and their Young Visionaries Youth Leadership Foundation as a drive-up or a come-in event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 12 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1407 N. Arrowhead Ave., San Bernardino.
The Time for Change Foundation, headed by Vanessa Perez and the Young Visionaries, led by Terrance Stone, are giving away money.
“We want to give back to the community by sharing some money that could make paying the bills a little easier and at a time they need it the most,” said Perez. Gifts include a $100 cash award and a $50 gift card that can be spent to pay any household utility bill, or to pay for household items or PPE gear for COVID-19 supplies.
Not only are we getting a little help from these two charitable groups, we get to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Young Visionaries Youth Leadership Academy.
To get into the 1920s frame of mind, Terrance is inviting attendees to pitch in with varying levels of sponsorship — “The Great Gatsby,” “The Bee’s Knees’’ “Speakeasy,” and “The Feather” sponsorship level.
“We are celebrating with the Roaring 20s because it just seemed to fit,” Stone said, “and we want to give back to the community when they need it the most.”
Sponsors also include St. John’s Episcopal Church, Catholic Charities, and Young Visionaries.
Attendees are asked to wear a face mask and follow distancing guidelines.
