Women of Color Face Startling Statistics

Much can be said about the state of the economy right now, but one thing rings true for us: women of color, especially black women are still four times more likely to be living in poverty, working as domestic workers and spending 75% of their income on housing alone. It is startling statistics like these which push us to reimagine an economy that will work for us.

While many are hoping to get back to life pre-COVID, Time for Chance Foundation (TFCF) recognizes that for the women and children we serve, life was a struggle. Did you know that overall, in the Inland Empire, Black women are at a 24% poverty rate and Hispanic women are at a 22% poverty rate according to the State of Women in the IE report from the University of Riverside?

New Owners in San Bernadino!

We are proud to announce that we are the new owners of Yum Yum Restaurant, nestled in the heart of San Bernardino. Our sincerest gratitude to the previous owners James and Theresa Ramos–members of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.

“We are always excited to help others who are trying to have a chance at furthering their life goals,” says Theresa Ramos.

Time for Change Foundation is no stranger to advancing causes that support women to better themselves and propel them into their rightful roles in shaping society. That said, empowering women and ensuring that families are thriving is at the heart of what we do.

We Are Pleased to Announce Our New Project

“We are excited to announce the first phase of our newest social enterprise project titled Black – Brown Opportunities for Profit Center (B-BOP) whereby innovation, entrepreneurship and small business development will happen” says Kim Carter, the Founder and Ambassador of TFCF.

B-BOP’s goal is to create this hub, much like Silicon Valley, where economic engines are fueled and ready to go. This pandemic, coupled with the nation’s rising against white supremacy and racism, dictates that it is time we create an economy that works for us, with us and by us.
